The Rivalry

It was inevitable, really. After all, the custom was that once an upcoming mating was announced, anyone was allowed to challenge either half of the couple for the possession of their intended.

So when the war-chief's daughter was betrothed to the visiting dragon clan noble's son to cement the ties between the tribes, many carefully glanced over their shoulders, waiting for the reaction. And few were surprised when a young, white haired warrior, the girl's childhood friend, stepped up.

If the dragon whelp wanted his mate, he'd have to defend his claim first.
