Dolphin dragon. Brain fart or a moment of inspiration? Sometimes, the line is fine indeed.
One of my more elaborate digital paintings of late. I had the strange urge to color it entirely in grayscale, and why not? I may experiment with this later, to see if I can come up with a technique to add color to black and white image. The markings I gave the dragon were inspired by the pacific white-sided dolphin.
Edit 01/04/2015: Adjusted contrast a bit, and cropped a little of the empty space from the edges.

Points for the non-bottlenose color scheme & smooth texture; still more for that wicked yet plausibly cetacean-ish dental array. I find myself wondering whether these guys opt for seabird-style diving strikes on subsurface prey, or retain enough speed/endurance for orca-style pack antics. Either way, nifty fusion.
