... I could just shoot myself in the head for that title.
Anyhoo, about exactly one month ago I had this idea about three characters, who all have varying precentage of demon blood in them. I even drew a picture, which for one reason or another went unscanned. And now, when I came accross that drawing again, I was glad that it did. The drawing in itself wasn't bad, I was satisfied with the expressions, anatomy and whatnot, but those character designs, ugh! I don't often redraw whole drawings, but this time I just had to, just to show myself that I could do better.
So, I give you Kuroaki the half-fox, clingy girly-boy Hex, and their easily annoyed friend Hazel. Hex is still almost exactly like his original version, whereas Kuroaki, well... Let's just say you wouldn't regognize him. Only thing that remained remotely the same was his personality, I even switched his name.
And since someone is bound to notice, yes, Hazel does owe some of her new design to *jaxthebat
's Zelly. [link]
The glowes are the only part I admit stealing, the rest I claim to be inspired by. And it's a cold day in a warm place when I give Hazel pink hair, although the blue claws are kinda nifty.
I can't help but add a word about the relationships between these three. In a word it's... complicated. Hazel sees Hex as somekind of an annoying younger cousin and she has a crush on Kuroaki. But she doesn't dare to act on it, because she knows that to the fox she and Hex are like siblings, and she doesn't want to ruin the friendship she has worked so hard for. And to mix things up even more there's Hex, whose view of Kuroaki wavers between big brother, hero and father figure, and who has adopted Hazel as his big sister/mommy, naturally never asking her opinion about it.
I'm not exactly sure what's going on in this picture, but if I were to make an educated guess, I'd say Hex is yammering about something Kuroaki did, which is making Hazel's daily migraine kick in early.
